National Constitution Day is commemorated every year on 26th November in India; this day is also known as Samvidhan Divas. Constitution Day is not an official public holiday. National Constitution Day is celebrated to recall the adoption of the Constitution of India. On this day in 1949, the Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India, which came into effect on January 26, 1950. It marks the start of a new era in the history of India. The Father of the Constitution of India is Dr. Ambedkar. He was invited by the Congress government after the independence of India to work as the 1st law minister of India. On 29th August Dr. Ambedkar was chosen as the Constitution Drafting Committee’s Chairman, and Dr. Ambedkar was the principal originator of the Indian Constitution and well known for the powerful and united India.
“I feel that the constitution is workable, it is flexible and it is strong enough to hold the country together both in peacetime and in wartime. Indeed, if I may say so, if things go wrong under the new Constitution, the reason will not be that we had a bad Constitution. What we will have to say is that Man was vile” – BR Ambedkar
