The United States’s Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) established this Day to promote conflict resolutions. The celebration aims to bring awareness about mediation, arbitration, conciliation. They further aimed at advancing the use of conflict resolutions in schools, families, businesses, governments, communities. ACR conceived in achieving national synergy by having this celebration happen from across the country and all around the globe on the same day.
It is an educational event primarily that recognizes the important participation of peaceful conflict resolvers. ACR logo of the tree was created as a symbol that celebrates the growth in Conflict Resolutions. The communities globally have been adopted proclamations designating a day or week in October in a way to promote alternatives in dispute resolution. At present, communities from around the world hold events to mark the day.
