Tangible Karma Day is observed on the first Saturday of April since 2005. It is celebrated on April 6th of this year. Karma means action, work, or deed; it also refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect where the purpose and activities of an individual influence the future of that individual. Good intent and good deed contribute to good karma and future happiness, while bad intent and bad deed contribute to bad karma and future suffering. Karma is believed to have its origin in ancient India and has its key concept in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, and Taoism. Tangible Karma is your opportunity to help yourself while helping others by giving away one’ useless things to those who are in need of them. It’s a day that celebrates giving and cleanses ones’ bad karma.
“I’m a true believer in karma. You get what you give, whether it’s bad or good.” – Sandra Bullock
History of Tangible Karma Day
A company called Tangible Karma is believed to be the reason for the birth of Tangible Karma Day. This group is said to be founded by Amber Nicole Dilger in 2005, and her idea was to recycle and reuse. Out of this company came the inspiration for Tangible Karma Day. Amber believed that a disarranged life could lead to a disarranged mind, which in turn leads to an instability of emotion and overall nervousness, and the best way to calm the space is by recycling resources.
