“Even successful musicians have had periods where people say they suck and no one likes them, even after they’ve had periods of great success. So I think it’s like you just gotta do you and try to stay motivated. Until, you know, you decide to stay home and make spaghetti all day.” – K. Flay
History of National Spaghetti Day
The founder and the exact origin of National Spaghetti Day are still unknown. Spaghetti means “Little Lines” in Italy. The Earliest historical reference to Boiled noodles suggests that the dish was invented thousands of years ago by the Arabs before it became an Italian cuisine staple. The historical references refer to dried noodles that are purchased from a street vendor. It means the pasta was sold in the 5th century in the stores. But nowadays, we associate pasta with the Italian people for revolutionizing the dish and inventing a lot of pasta varieties.
The first western pasta was made in Sicily around the 12th century, and they are in long and thin form. Until now, Spaghetti is a regular round-shaped pasta. Then pasta spread across the entire Itay after the establishment of pasta factories in the 19th Century. As the day goes on, the time required to make the dish is also shortened. In the earlier 19th century, spaghetti was offered in restaurants. Then, they became so popular around the world.
Usually, Spaghetti is served with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. In addition to that, you can add meat, oil, pepper, and garlic as an extra flavor to it. The world record for the largest bowl of spaghetti was achieved in March 2009. The Garden Grove, California Buca Di Beppo restaurant, in March 2010, broke the earliest record by filling a swimming bowl with more than 13,780 pounds of pasta.
