History of National Peanut Butter Cookie Day
The creator of National Peanut Butter Cookie Day is not known. George Washington Carver, American Agriculture Educator, is one who is well-known for promoting Peanut Butter. He compiled 105 recipes from various recipes and books. These 105 recipes include peanut butter as the main ingredient. Among the 105 recipes, 3 cookie recipes were included. After this, peanut butter cookies came into the limelight, and people started baking them in their homes. Only in the late 1920s peanut butter was listed as one of the ingredients to make a cookie.
People use Peanut Butter in Sandwiches, but a peanut butter cookie is more famous, and it can be taken as a snack anytime in the day. Earlier in 1920, peanut butter cookies were rolled thin and cut into shapes. It was in the year 1932 that the most famous criss-cross mark made using fork tines was published by the Schenectady Gazette. Nowadays, all peanut cookies are made with the same pattern as it gets baked well in this shape.
