In the USA, parfait refers to both traditional French Parfait desserts and to American parfait. American parfaits are made by layering ice cream with fresh fruits, granola, yogurt, nuts, and whipped cream, and in the northern United States and Canada, these delicious desserts are also made by using yogurt layered with fresh fruits like strawberries, peaches, or blueberries or nuts and the word “yogurt parfait” is popular in few places in America and it is eaten for breakfast or it is eaten as a snack.
