History of No Selfies Day
The No Selfies Day’s history, origin, and founder are anonymous. Also, there is no mention of its first observance of this Day and the reason for this date. However, the creator who has come up with this celebration has targeted those selfie-addicted persons to make them realize the effects of selfies. The annual observance encourages all the camera and smartphone owners not to take a picture of themselves on this Day. Selfie addiction will soon end up with a psychologically damaging behavior. It is because research has revealed that on average a girl spends one hour and twenty-four minutes each week trying to capture a perfect selfie.
It is also found that the selfie is a cultural phenomenon that reveals the very basic human desire to feel noticed, get appreciated, and recognized. Due to lots of social media development, people are forced to take selfies and upload them for likes and comments as it is the trend. The social media world loves fake beauty in the form of filters, effects and more. As a result, people don’t understand the fact that the fake version of themselves will never be more appealing than their real version. The consequence is selfie addiction and which makes that person gets affected psychologically when someone comments negatively or dislikes the selfie. No Selfies Day gives both the chance and remainder for all us to forget the selfies for at least a day and get away from this plague.
