“Every once in a while, a new technology, an old problem, and a big idea turn into an innovation.” – Dean Kamen
History of National Techies Day
In 1998, techies.com, with the support of CNET Networks, had first established the National Techies Day. Techies Day was first celebrated on October 3, 1999. The original history behind the creation of this day is very simple. It aims to help high school students to get educated about careers in technology. The technologically skilled persons can make use of the ample opportunities available. The celebration of the day encourages kids to adopt computer science and choose a techie professional life. What will you do if your laptop has suddenly stopped working? Haven’t you yet downloaded the new software? Don’t you try the new game? A techie is an expert person in technology, especially computing. He is the one who invents or develops new and advanced technology from the existing one.
Techies work towards making us move the world further. In modern days, Information Technology experts are the Techies who keep us moving forward. The techies are often early adopters. There are different types of technology positions that range from software development to information security, health care, and administration. Anything and everything we depend on directly or indirectly has technology involved. It includes your phone, laptop, and more. Technology is almost available in every field, including science. Celebrate the day to promote the branch of the profession towards children and students.
