National School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday of National Nurses Week. This year it will be celebrated on May 8. On this prosperous occasion, we will honor all the nurses in the school who care for your children every day. The nurses in the school promote your children’s education by your children’s health. The school nurses would go first when any of the children are not well, otherwise if they are injured they will provide better care for every student. Then the Nurse in the school will provide a wealth of information for education support as well.
“I think one’s feelings waste themselves in words; they ought all to be distilled into actions which bring results.”- Florence Nightingale
History of National School Nurse Day
The founder or creator of this day is the National Education Association, the association which established the Department of School Nurse. It is the association developed for the enhancement of school nursing practice and especially for school-age children. A few years later every state school has started a School Nurse Association under the flagship of the Department of School Nurses. In 1974, President Ford announced that every fourth Wednesday of January was a National School Nurse Day, but now it has been changed to the first Wednesday of May. Nowadays School Nurses are recognized nationally, that are celebrated for their contribution to the health and well-being of students.

All the students in the school will learn more about school nurses, what they are doing in the school, how they take care of children, and more. Present a gift to the school nurse by writing a thank you note for their service. Say to your children about school nurse and their affection for them, and share your thoughts on social media using the hashtag #SchoolNurseDay.
