National Pet Fire Safety Day is commemorated on July 15 of every year. It is a day to create awareness on the importance preparing one’s pet for unexpected fire emergencies and educating owners on various measures to prevent pets from such chaos. It is said that pets are the cause of almost 1000 house fires every year and nearly 40000 pets die from fire and smoke inhalation. Dog’s life and your house can be saved from fire by being prepared and by following few safety rules. The fire caused by pets are mainly due to the negligence of owners. Pets are in danger even outside the house like when they are taken for campfires, barbecues, fireworks, etc., as pets are always curious about food and fire. Its the responsibility of owners to take care of their pets from all the dangers, so on this day learn to keep your pets away from the fire.
“Pets are humanizing. They remind us we have an obligation and responsibility to preserve and nurture and care for all life.” – James Cromwell

How to Celebrate the Day
On this day, make it a point to learn the safety measures and adopt them for the good of your pets. Everyone must understand that when pets are left alone at home, they will tend to play with unattended wires, sometimes they may go to the kitchen in search of food and may end up opening the stove causing a fire. So it’s better to leave your pup in a kennel or a confined place if you plan to leave them alone at the house. By avoiding these accidents, you can keep your pets away from the fire. So this alert deserves a day as it may save your loved pets from unfortunate incidents. Post pictures and share your celebrations on social media by using the hashtag #PetFireSafetyDay.
