National Forget-Me-Not Day is celebrated every year on November 10. This day encourages people to reconnect with those they may have lost touch with, making it the perfect opportunity to reach out to family members, friends, and loved ones, especially those you haven’t seen in a while.
“A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.” – Charles Spurgeon

History of National Forget Me Not Day
Judge Robert S. Marx created National Forget-Me-Not Day to support wounded soldiers who needed long-term care after returning from the war. In 1921, there were only a few organizations and services available to provide the support and care these veterans required. To address this, Marx established Forget-Me-Not Day to remind the country of their sacrifices and to raise funds for disabled soldiers through the sale of forget-me-not flowers. The forget-me-not flower symbolizes National Forget-Me-Not Day and is known to grow in open, rocky areas and mountain regions of Alaska.
A similar holiday, called Forget-Me-Not Days, has been celebrated in New Zealand every June 5 and June 6 since 2003. It was started by two bank insurers to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association.
