Lung Leavin Day is celebrated on February 2 of every year. Heather Von St. James is an 11-year mesothelioma cancer alliance, and she is also helping others who have mesothelioma around the world. This day is named Lung Leavin Day by Heather’s sister as it was the day Heather Von St. James’ lung was removed. It is also a great day to observe not only battling cancer but anything that makes you struggle. Lung Leavin Day is all about how to manage your fears and move forward.
“Be strong, be fearless, be beautiful. And believe that anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you” – Misty Copeland.
History of Lung Leavin Day
Lung Leavin Day was created in the year 2005 by Heather Von St. James when she was faced with surgery for malignant pleural mesothelioma. When Heather Von St. James was told she got mesothelioma, she froze at that moment, and she stated that at that moment, all she could think about was her husband and 3-month-old daughter. She was told that she should try a radical procedure, and if she didn’t do that, she would only survive for the next 15 months. She decided to make a diagnosis, and she underwent an operation that removed her left lung, diaphragm, pleura, and pericardium. Heather Von St. James and her family have been observing this day for 11 years after her surgery.

How to Celebrate the Day
Heather and her family have the habit of writing their fears and worries on a plate and then smashing them, and as the plate breaks to pieces, so can your fears. If you are undergoing any fear, you can take Lung Leavin Day as an opportunity to take a plate and write about your fears and worries and smash them, or you can do the same thing with a paper and, after writing, tear that paper. Also, post pictures and share your thoughts about the day with others on social media by using the hashtag #LungLeavinDay.
Thank you for reading the post. You can celebrate every day with Happydays365.org and Happy Lung Leavin Day 2024.
