History of Kargil Victory Day
The Kargil War was an armed debate between two countries India and Pakistan; this war took place in the Kargil district of Kashmir between May and July 1999. In India, this war is also called Operation Vijay named after the Indian operation to clear the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan. Both the countries India and Pakistan lost many troopers, and the Kargil war came to an end on July 26, 1999. India fought and took an order of the outposts that had been lost to Pakistani violaters, More than 520 Indian soldiers died during this hardest war fought against Pakistan at Kargil, Batalik, and Dras districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Kargil Victory Day is celebrated not only in the Kargil-Dras district but also in New Delhi where the Prime Minister of India pays respect to the war soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyoti.
