The UN first recognized the year 2000 as the “International Year for a Culture of Peace.” After that from 2001, it was called International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for Children of the World.” Then the UN General Assembly, in its resolution 72/130 on December 8, 2017, declared the International Day of Living Together in Peace on 16 May of every year. The day to appreciate and cherish the efforts of the international community to promote peace, tolerance, inclusion, understanding, and solidarity among the world.
