History of Human Rights Day
In 1948, The United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. From that day the major stride put forward is to ensure that the rights of every people across the globe are protected. The basic needs of a human such as shelter, water, and food must be access to free and uncensored pieces of information; such have been the goals laid out that day. The day is loud across the globe in spite of where we live, and what we believe, every individual should deserve their basic needs. In South Africa, it was celebrated on 21 March, in memory of the Sharpeville Massacre.
