Children’s Day is observed on November 14 of every year. Children’s Day is celebrated to raise awareness among the people towards the rights, care, and education of children. It was celebrated on November 14 to honor the birth anniversary of a great Indian leader – Jawaharlal Nehru. He is the first prime minister of Independent India. Every year, Children’s Day is celebrated with cultural and fun activities all over India. History of Children’s Day
In India, Children’s Day is celebrated on the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru, famously known as Chacha Nehru. Childhood is a great moment in everybody’s life that should be on the right track to becoming successful in the future. Without the right direction, they may not live a good life. It can be done only by giving proper education and care. Jawaharlal Nehru was a great leader of India, and he was the first prime minister of independent India. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was born on November 14 in the year 1889, and because of was very intelligent he was named Jawaharlal. He finished his education in England and started to fight for the Independence of India while returning from England to India.
The deep love and fervor of Jawaharlal Nehru towards the children are the big reason to celebrate Children’s Day on his birthday anniversary. He worked enormously for the well-being of children in Independence India. He was very affectionate towards kids and became popular as Chacha Nehru among the children. The name “Chacha Nehru” defines “Uncle Nehru.” He established several educational institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and the Indian Institutes of Management for the progress and development of the youth of India. He also created a five-year plan which includes free primary education, free meals to the school children to prevent them from malnutrition.
