Festivus Day is a holiday celebrated on December 23 of every year. It is a traditional holiday celebrated hugely in the United States of America. It serves as an alternative to participating in the commercialism and pressures of Christmas. This day is a secular theme for an all-inclusive December gathering. It’s a holiday that stands out more than the rest.
History of Festivus Day
Festivus Day was created by Author and Reader’s Digest editor Daniel O’Keefe. He created this day due to his family’s tension. “Airing of Grievances” is one of O’Keefe’s central practices. Initially, it was celebrated in February 1966, but later, it was changed to December 23 on the occasion of O’keefe’s first date with his wife. Festivus Day became so familiar with the famous television show in America called “Seinfeld.” The first time the day was mentioned in an American culture episode called “The Strike.” Festivus Day proves that human beings do not need any materials to be happier on holidays. They just need a good partner, a jovial attitude, and lovely music to make that holiday better than ever.

How to Celebrate Festivus
Celebrating Festivus Day is very simple and easier to remember. Festivus is an alternative to the pressure and commercialism that cause Christmas Shopping. On this day, use the aluminum pole in place of the Christmas tree. Then, put the clock in the bag and nail it on the wall. Next is dinner, which usually contains turkey or meatloaf on a bed of lettuce. Then, there is the Airing of Grievances, where each person from the table stands and tells about how the world had disappointed them that year. Finally, the head of the household will call one individual from the celebration and challenge them to a wrestling match. The celebration will not stop until their opponent person pins the head of the family. Post pictures and share your celebrations on social media using the hashtag #Festivus.
