National Biographers Day is celebrated on May 16 of every year. The day honors the first meeting of Samuel Johnson and James Boswell on 16th May 1763 in London, England. History of National Biographers Day
The exact origin and founder of National Biographers Day are still unknown. But the day honors the anniversary of the first meeting of English writer, Samuel Johnson and his biographer, Hames Boswell in 1763. The Biography is a written account of other’s personal life, and Samuel Johnson was also a Biographer. But the biographical writing has not always enjoyed such popularity, and biographical conventions have evolved considerably over the centuries. The current version of the biography was discovered in the 18th century, and it is closely associated with James Boswell. The Warm, expansive, uncompromising, and exhaustively detailed, James Boswell’s “Life of Samuel Johnson” discovered a new way of writing the biography and formed the emergence of the biography format which is very popular today.
