World Nutella Day is celebrated on February 5 of every year. Nutella is a sweetened hazelnut spread manufactured by an Italian Company named Ferrero. Nutella can be spread on toast or in the center of pastries or other baked goods. Some people will consume them with simply a spoon or finger. World Nutella Day is a perfect day to enjoy the taste of Nutella with your family members or friends.
“Nutella. I dig my spoon in and eat it straight out of the jar. I can easily go through one a week.” – Malin Akerman
History of World Nutella Day
Sara Rosso founded it, and it was first celebrated in 2007. She created the day to introduce her favorite spread to her friends and family members. She discovered Nutella as a food blogger while she lived in Italy. In 2015, it was transferred from Sara to the company that manufactures Nutella, Ferrero. This transfer enlarges World Nutella Day to become even greater and its longevity. The company has done some creative things to support World Nutella Day.
Usually, sugar, palm oil, hazelnut, cocoa solids, and skimmed milk are used to make Nutella. However, people in the United States of America added some soy products to it for more taste. In many countries, it is marked as “Hazelnut Cream, ” according to Italian Law, it cannot be labeled as “Chocolate Cream” as it doesn’t meet the requirements of standard cocoa solids concentration. We can store Nutella at normal room temperature without going for any rancid before the best-before date. Ingredients like cocoa, milk powder, soy products, and vanillin also do not need refrigeration. Hence, we do not need to put Nutella in a refrigerator after opening it.
