History of National Lollipop Day
National Confectioners Association sponsors National Lollipop Day. George Smith was the one to invent and patent the Lollipop in 1908. The first automatic lollipop machine was claimed to be created by the Racine Confectioner’s Machinery Company. The first reference to modern lollipops was made in the 1920s and thereby pulled many loyal customers to it. Lollipops are enjoyed by all people indifference of age and time. The first made lollipops were prepared with boiled sugar and aided with sticks or handles. During the prehistoric period, nuts and berries were preserved in honey. With the excess availability of sugar in the 16th century, lollipop evolved. These lollipops didn’t fail to satisfy the sweet tooth for centuries.
