National Notebook Day is an annual celebration observed on the Third Thursday of May. This year it will be celebrated on May 18. National Notebook Day is a day to speak about the importance of journaling. It is a day to take note of your thoughts and memories. There will be no one in the world, who hasn’t tried journaling at some point in their lives, especially teenagers. Hence it is a day to take those old journals and read your old thoughts and see how you are changed.
“Journal writing is a voyage to the interior.” – Christina Baldwin
History of National Notebook Day
May Designs created National Notebook Day to speak about the importance of Journaling. The things that we are journaled before are mostly kept while we are a kid and all the poetry that we read in English class often filled us with the inspiration to write our own. As we faced the challenges of youth, especially first love, the journal began with angry thoughts, intense emotions, and the process of seeking to think out who we were and what the world would make of us.
