History of International Systems Engineer Day
Systems Engineer Day was recently established by the team at www.systemsengineerday.com to honor the men and women who spend long hours in front of computers, making our lives easier and better. The term “systems engineering” first appeared at Bell Telephone Laboratories in the 1940s, and today, 75 years later, it has evolved into various fields and subfields, such as mechatronics engineering, industrial engineering, security engineering, reliability engineering, software engineering, cognitive systems engineering, and infrastructure engineering, among others.
The computer you use daily, the plane you travel in, the bridges you cross, and countless other advancements exist because of systems engineers. A prime example of the power of systems engineering is the International Space Station.
